Services
Three ways to work with me. Underneath all of them is the same offer: a senior engineer who takes ownership, communicates like an adult, and stays until the thing works.
Ongoing technical leadership
Who it’s for: businesses and institutions that depend on their web platform but don’t have, or don’t need, a full-time senior engineer.
You get a standing technical owner. Architecture decisions, security reviews, vendor and host management, upgrade planning, and an experienced answer to “is this a big deal?” when something breaks at 9pm. Engagements run as monthly retainers with a predictable cadence and a direct line to me.
This is the arrangement my longest clients keep, several for more than a decade, including an eleven-year engagement as developer-of-record for a national home furnishings retailer. Read the case studies.
“Tom followed through on all commitments and delivered on-time and on-budget. In addition, Tom is a great communicator and a conscientious partner.”

Rescue and stabilization
Who it’s for: teams that lost their developer, inherited a codebase nobody understands, or are watching technical debt block the roadmap.
The shape is consistent. A paid audit comes first, so you know exactly what you have and what it will take. Then stabilization: fixing what’s dangerous, documenting what exists, and removing the single points of failure. Most rescues settle into the retainer above once the fire is out.
I’ve unwound hacked-together plugin forks, replaced unmaintainable vendor systems, and migrated thousands of users off dying platforms without losing their history. The rescue stories are here.
“Tom filled a hole dug by a local developer with grace, intelligence and wit.”

Quiet delivery
Who it’s for: agencies that sold the project and need it built right, and funded founders who need a version one that can survive success.
For agencies, I work under your brand, inside your process, at your cadence. I spent ten years as the invisible engineering team for one healthcare marketing agency, and two years building client sites for the company behind WordPress.com, under their name, not mine.
For founders, I build the version one like it’s going to succeed: boring where it should be boring, custom where it earns its keep.
When a build needs more hands than mine, I lead a small crew of senior specialists I’ve worked with for years. You still work with me, and I still own the outcome.
“Tom jumped on a rush client call and became a member of our team immediately. He made us look super good!”

Where WordPress fits
A large share of my eighteen years is WordPress and WooCommerce, at every scale from solo publishers to enterprise editorial systems. I’m not precious about it: I build headless, hybrid, and fully custom systems too, and I’ll tell you plainly which one your project actually needs.
The practical details
- Location: Miami, Florida, on Eastern Time. Real overlap with your working day, not a status update waiting for you at 6am.
- Engagement shapes: monthly retainers for leadership and ongoing ownership, fixed-scope projects for rescues and builds, and audits as the usual starting point.
- Communication: direct with me, in whatever tool your team already lives in.
- AI: part of the toolkit, never the accountable party. You get senior output at modern speed, with a human standing behind every line.
